THOUGHTS ON
CRISIS MANAGEMENT
Introducing THEe PUZZLE Thoughts

We each handle mental pressure and emotions differently: these thoughts are examples, and not an absolute truth. They are not to tell you what or how you should think.
These examples are to inspire you. Look at how other people think, and spark your mind to release self-inflicted stress and handle uncertainty
THEe PUZZLE is built like Russian Dolls - from THEe Tiny PUZZLE to THEe Full PUZZLE. The idea is to introduce more and more thoughts, and more and more Puzzle pieces as you progress.
You can either read the thoughts selecting one Puzzle piece and going through the different versions of it. Or you can choose to look at a Puzzle version in full. There is not rule but to approach it as it suits you best.
Each Puzzle is declined in 2 versions: thoughts before THEe PUZZLE, and after.
THEe PUZZLE is written in the 1st person to entail maximum impact.

Myself is multiple
I have never done this before: I don't know if I can...?
My Ego
I am not skilled enough to do this!
My Compass
I am terrified I won't be good enough to solve this crisis.
The Universal Rule that governs my life
I will not be able to handle this.
Thee TINY Puzzle
BEFORE Thee Puzzle
Myself is multiple
There is a first time each time! Let's do this!
My Ego
Now is not the time to beat myself up: let's rather put the energy into solving this crisis!
My Compass
I am terrified and aware of it. It's OK, and it won't stop me from doing a good job.
The Universal Rule that governs my life
I will do my best to handle this, plus I am not alone to do it.
AFTER Thee Puzzle
The Universal Rule that governs my life
Nobody can recover from such a disaster: we are going bankrupt!
My Ego
Nobody is going to listen to me!
My Compass
I am very angry this is happening, and I can see that everyone feels this frustration around me!
Mastering my life
What is happening is way beyond my control!
Myself is Multiple
I have never done this before and not sure I can handle it.
Thee SMALL Puzzle
BEFORE Thee Puzzle
The Universal Rule that governs my life
Let's see how we recover from this. The future is never certain until it becomes present!
My Ego
I will raise my good points over and over, until someone listens. I can help solve this crisis.
My Compass
Being angry does not help. Let's bring my own frustration down as a start, and replace it with a constructive mood.
Mastering my life
I can't control this crisis, but I can certainly influence how we solve it.
Myself is Multiple
There are plenty of things I did not think I was capable of - and I did them. This will be another one on the list!
AFTER Thee Puzzle
The Universal Rule that governs my life
There is no obvious solution to this: we could as well make it worse!
My Ego
This is really not good. What did I do wrong?
Living in the present
I am so stressed I cannot concentrate. I keep on thinking about the consequences.
Mastering my Life
There are so many moving parts in all this: I have no clue where to start!
Myself is Multiple
I have so many doubts I can do this.
My Compass
What if I am not able to solve this? What if I fail and they fire me?!
The Protection in my head
I must work night and days to solve this, it does not matter if I am tired I must keep on going until this is over.
The Pollution in My Head
They will blame this crisis on me, I can see it coming.
Thee ADVANCED Puzzle
BEFORE Thee Puzzle
The Universal Rule that governs my life
Taking no action is the best way to make things worse. So let's try and iterate, until we solve this.
My Ego
I don't know what I did wrong. But I do know that I do need to do right now, so let's put my energy on this!
Living in the present
I don't know what the consequences will be until we have solved this crisis. Right here and right now, I am in the office and asked to help. So let's do that, and leave consequences to later.
Mastering my Life
I am not sure where to start, but we have to start someone! So let's organize ourselves and prioritize.
Myself is Multiple
I have lots of doubts, but I am also able to keep them to myself. For now, it is about showing confidence to the team and mobilizing them.
My Compass
Now is not the time to panic, but to focus on solving this crisis. There will be plenty of time to manage the after... after. Let's focus!
The Protection in my head
Me being exhausted won't be helpful. I do need to take breaks here and there, else I won't be able to lead the team effectively.
The Pollution in my Head
At this stage we really don't care who they blame it on. We must fix this first. Plus the ones solving it will be remembered!
AFTER Thee Puzzle
The Universal rule that governs my life
Why is this happening to me?! I knew something bad would happen!
My Filter
There is no time to think, let's just move on and take actions.
Connecting to myself
This is not the right time to think about how I feel.
Mastering my Life
I am so lost where to start, there is nothing that comes to mind to make this better.
Myself is Multiple
I am melting down inside: this crisis is crushing me.
My Compass
I am 200% panicking and cannot concentrate. Fear is taking over!
The Protection in my head
I am asked to do so many things and so fast, this is mission impossible.
The Pollution in my head
This is my worst nightmare happening. We'll never get out of this chaos!
My Ego
I am so not the right person to help with this crisis!
Living in the present
I see that the team is exhausted already, they won't be able to last and I'll be left alone handling this.

The Universal rule that governs my life
Things happen, such is life. But I am able to overcome them: together with the team, we will find solutions.
My Filter
I do need to take a step back and ensure I am not taking decisions just to be in my comfort zone. Yes time is of the essence, but we need to think this right.
Connecting to myself
If I continue being so tense and ignore my body, I will collapse. Having a few minutes to myself here and there matter to last in helping solve this crisis.
Mastering my Life
Let's sit down and make a list of what I can be useful with. Because without a doubt, there are things I can do to help.
Myself is Multiple
Let's make sure I have moments to release pressure. And rest assure I am much stronger than this crisis: by no mean it is crushing me. I am better than that!
My Compass
I have the techniques to keep my fear distant enough that it does not control me.
The Protection in my head
I am able to articulate a coherent plan, and have the right conversation with the leaders in charge. This is the only way to make this work.
The Pollution in my head
Let's stop think about chaos as this is not helpful! Rather focus on restoring order!
My Ego
I may not be the right person but I am what the company has! So let's concentrate on doing my best rather than put me down.
Living in the present
I see that the team is tired so let's organize ourselves differently. People are there so let's talk and decide together.
