WELL DONE!
LIVING IN THE PRESENT - IN SHORT
Being present implies that I pay attention to what happens around me with an open mind.
I am very lucid and not projecting any thoughts or judging what happens.
Partnering with my Ego is the key to be present
LIVING IN THE PRESENT - IN FULL
Living in the present consists in experimenting what is happening here and now, without projecting any thoughts into it. And the absence of judging implies that the little voice in my head is focused in it with me!
To be present, I need to refocus my Ego - so it is curious with me, and enjoying this conversation. It certainly will comment it here and there as it cannot help it, but in a constructive manner. Teaming up with my Ego, rather than push it away, enables me to focus. Its relentless attention is concentrated on the conversation, so I miss nothing.
Another type of conversation I can have while being present is a difficult discussion, where I am able to cope with any reaction from the person in front of me. As I do not judge his/her behaviors and words, I am able to hear without being impacted. I do not take anything personally. I let the other person live what he/she wants to live, and I also choose how I want to experience this moment.
It requires a lot of practice to solely live in the present. To be strong enough not go back to listening to my Ego, unless I choose to. And that is OK. What matters is that I know I can live in the present when I focus. Plus the more I do it, the easier it becomes.
Being present implies that I am at ease, else my Ego will take over with its threat scanner. I can start practicing with situations where I am comfortable - with the intent to achieve too remain present when there are tensions around me.
Often, living the present consists in being surprised by the conversation! As I am listening and asking questions, in most cases the answers are absolutely different from how I think! Most conversation where I am present are pleasant and enriching.
